I really think the 6s/6s+ is a completely new phone that just happens to be in the same enclosure as the 6/6+.

In reality, it's what the original 6's should have been. Playing catch-up. I'd expect the 7's to be significantly different. They can bump the 6 up to 5" for a starter. But everything is good now. I like this platform a lot. The plus should have a stylus but it's got multi-tasking so it's all good. And the stylus shouldn't cost extra.

Do you mean split-screen instead of multi-tasking? I always thought true multi-tasking was the ability to dynamically resize more than 2 windows on top of each other with active content in all of them. Can the 6s do that?

I agree with the idea that the Pencil should be free, but where do you store it when not in use? It's going to take a case that is 1/4 inch wider or thicker.

Yeah, I mean split screen. I've not tried it myself, but I figure it should work like Samsung's version, which is dynamically resizable. As far as the Pencil is concerned, they're gonna have to find a way to embed it within the phone.

I disagree in that Apple needs to plan to get the most $ out of people and the pent up demand for the screen sizes of the 6 and 6+ meant that they only had to do a perfunctory spec bump to make it look like they're trying.

Leave the real under the hood performance bumps for the following generation S models in this case to keep demand up.

The efficient and reasonable thing to do is to implement the best available technology of the moment. Most of the time, improvements are dependent on what's ready. It's nothing purposeful. It's just being competitive. There's no glory present.

I'm liking this six s plus. Quite a bit faster than the six plus it replaced.

But I may be enjoying the ios9 tweaks even more.

The super fast Touch ID is amazing.

Perfunctory refers to the previous gen 6 and 6+. Real speed bumps refers to the current S models, 6s and 6s+.

Looks like in addition to the raw CPU/GPU increase of the A9 & 2GB RAM, the NAND storage is also much faster.
