I recently received an ala carte bundle offer that included Mariner software as one of the choices. I deleted the email thinking that it was a scam. I had never even heard of any of the other software choices.

I recently received an ala carte offer from an outfit that identified itself as Paddle, even though the URL embedded in the e-mail goes to www.madmimi.com. I tossed it out.

Years and year ago, bundles made some sense.

But over those years, they either offered stuff I already had, didn't want, or never heard of. And the licensing was often a pitfall, with some apps not being upgradeable when the next version shipped.
