Traveling from Southern California to New Orleans and back (mostly I-10). Some notes (not quite returned home yet):

1. Crazy drivers in each state, although Texas seemed to have the most "I can fit my crew cab pickup truck with boat trailer in the 10 feet of space between your car and the car in front of it" drivers (and at the last moment before passing someone else).

2. Is it really necessary to have "Obey warning signs; State Law" signs posted on the side of the road? Do people really think all the other signs are posted just for fun?

3. Nobody obeys speed limits. By a lot. Regardless of road work conditions. Unless a patrol car or trooper is within sight.

4. People do not know what "Slower traffic keep right" means.

5. No state or the feds spend enough on road repair.

"Muscle car" statistics: Way more Camaros than Challengers. More Challengers than Mustangs. Probably 5-10:1 Camaros to Mustangs.

We live in a gorgeous country when you get away from the city centers.

I drove from L.A. to Sedona via Phoenix a few years back. I could literally tell exactly where CA ended and AZ began by the EXPONENTIAL improvement in the quality of the road. CA roads are @#$%&.

I have yet to see worse drivers than those from New Jersey.

Saw a couple of bikers jump a car once in Jersey when the car was only doing 70 on the 'Pike.

Nice way to keep you alert on a long road trip.

the rules of the road need to be enforced more strictly to get more widespread adherence. self driving cars may come first.

I see a lot of idiots in my (way too) long daily commute; ignoring stop signs, running red lights, texting while driving. I often wish I could pop a blue light on my car and issue tickets to the arseholes.

Was a passenger in car driving on I-95 near Baltimore. Was compelled to point out to the driver that he was tailgating the Mustang in front of us. There was also a Camry between our car and the Mustang.

After that it became a matter of pride to not just tailgate two cars at once, but three.

My Dad told a story about driving a dinky Fiat behind a truck in the slow lane. There was a gap coming up and he accelerated for a few seconds and put on his blinker. A car he could barely even see started flashing it's lights from a km back and flew by about 15 seconds later.

My small university town is constantly in danger from texting while driving.
You can take as a given if the driver is under 30 (predominantly female), they are texting at any given second.
If someone invents an EMP weapon that would destroy a cell phone at a distance of 30-50 feet, I would buy one.

I drive about 30,000 miles per year in NJ. I fully agree with your comments about poor drivers in this state - though never saw a motorcycle drive over a car. However I have seen them pass between cars and on the road shoulder at over 80 mph!

All drivers are terrible except y'all and me. Sometimes I'm not so sure about y'all.
