Yosemite or El Capitan?

Moving from a mid 2012 13" Macbook Air to a late 2013 13" Macbook Pro.

Should I move to El Capitan or stick with Yosemite?

I haven't had a Kernel panic since going to El Capitan. Running it on my wife's 2nd Gen. MBA 11" with 2Gb of RAM,
a 2012 13" MBA with 4Gb of RAM and a mid-2010 i5 Quad 27" iMac with 8Gb of RAM.

No complaints here yet, except I can't get HandBrake to work correctly. Did Clean Installs on all of them.

Yosemite. I see no improvement from Y to EC and I still can't get my Mail to work right and two updates so far have not fixed it even tho these issues were supposed to be addressed. My 2ยข.

Do you use virtual machines? I still see some bugs with VMWare and Sheepsaver using EC.

You need to tweak Handbrake for EC, if that's important to you.

I think Yosemite is still more stable - but EC is the future.

YMMV - but my experience with EC was not smoothsailing.

I see several saying Mail isn't working right or broken. What exactly is it doing?

I'm running Mail with three Gmail IMAP accounts and I'm not currently having any problems, knock on wood.

I had some odd initial problems with Mail -- couldn't send from my @mac address, only from the @me version -- but that was fixed by logging out of iCloud and logging back in. Everything was fine after that.

The only other real issue I had was printing; my Lexmark didn't show any of its extra features at all (extra paper tray, envelope printing, etc.) when under Yosemite all was well. Turns out there was a firmware update I had missed (which didn't affect use under Yosemite). After I updated the firmware, everything was fine.

I use El Capitan and at least once per month I am not able to send out any mail. I have to delete the mail account and add it back in to get it to work.
