Is there a way to sync Calendar and Contacts between an iOS 9.2 iPhone and a Mac OS 10.6.8 Mac ? I just bought the iPhone 5s for wife. She doesn't want to change the OS on her Mac because she would have to give up Appleworks. Also, the iPhone needs iTunes higher than the v.11.4 that is on the Mac.

I'm thinking she can publish and subscribe for the calendar but the addresses may need to be reentered, yes?

Any suggestions? Google maybe?

Google is probably the route I'd go.

Just solve the problem. Deal with the elephant in the room - Appleworks. One shouldn't adjust their whole life around a need for appleworks. People REALLY NEED to get off 10.6 in the next year or two, but yesterday would be better.

Current version of Libre Office reads Appleworks word processing docs. If that's all she is using, you're gold

1) Syncing can be done manually with iTunes and a cable, but automatic over-the-air doesn't work without hacking or non-Apple solutions.

2) Even if you decide to stay with 10.6, LibreOffice is a big improvement over Appleworks.

Through Google Calendars via CalDAV, but it's not reliable. Apple didn't have very good support for CalDAV until 10.7 and Google has been making it more difficult to use CalDAV as they move toward shutting down that service in favor of proprietary APIs. (Which would totally be an evil thing to do, but thankfully their slogan is "don't be evil" so it's okay.)
