Cavaliers fire David Blatt as coach

Fire the coach that took you to the finals last year and is leading the division now. That's how the winners do it.

Good. I would have fired him for Tyronn Lue too. He's an expert at shutting down elite point guards. That last game with the Warriors got Blatt fired.

No he was a basketball coach in charge of players that think they are the greatest one on one players ever made.

Cleveland, land of cursed sports franchises. The Browns keep drafting QB that are either awful or they ruin them. They one up that by drafting an alcoholic party animal. Then they hire a baseball analytics guy because they are so desperate.

Just as LeBron returns to Cleveland to save Cleveland sports, Steph Curry takes off and the Spurs get better also.

Did Blatt ever really coach? LeFlop is in charge and he is the one that fired Blatt. Blatt basically got paid millions, got a free front row seat, hotel accommodations, and trips to other cities all in exchange for rolling out the ball and some press conferences.

Maybe he didn't help LeFlop get better at flopping

I love Lebron flopping because he's one of the strongest, fastest, more agile players in the league. He gets hit for sure, but he often, uh, doesn't. Nice GIF.

I agree with vision,
Blatt has been dead man walking since LeBron came back. He never got a chance to really institute his system. LeBron came back and then it was win now mode. LeBron clearly even picked some players for the roster, let alone dictated the offense. LeBron is a great player, but you need checks and balances. I think his obsession with wasting a spot with James Jones or even Mike Miller (the latter actually had some key moments in the playoffs over the years), is killer. I'm not a Kevin Love fan at all either. He can't a play a lick of defense and seems to concede shots in order to get better rebounding position. Chris Bosh was a far better big man fit for LeBron.

David Blatt doesn't do anything for me as a coach, but I would have been interested watching him work with a younger more malleable team.

LOL, LeBron says he is surprised by the firing. The franchise that bends over backward 50 different ways and 50 more on the weekends would fire a coach and not consult with their franchise player who dictates who is signed, even his friends to terrible contracts.

Oh my goodness, did you see the Varejao contract? He was clearly consulted on the Shumpert/Smith trade last year. They lost pretty soundly in their first game. Wouldn't it be crazy if they, say, went 4-6 over the next 10? And everyone starts to panic?
