Does anyone know if this phone is capable of direct sync with either iCal/Address book or Palm Desktop on a Mac?

Why the hate?
VZW cripples all their BT phones, they remove the OBEX (OBject EXchange) part of the BT stack.

yes VZW sux, I agree.
none the less they travel the country better than anyone else and have EVDO properly enabled.
most of their their hacks are hackable back.

VZW sucks in all the do-dahs. But with coverage, they are the best.

I really dont know why they cripple things...I guess they'd have to support it if available.

All I ever really needed to know, I learned from watching Star Trek.

Never had issues with VZW, for years...and getting around any 'crippled' features. *sigh* - easy.

VX-9800 here...love it. ('Q' is nice...but I'd rather have a more 'real' phone...no need for another 'computer' to manage right now).

Thus far been using the Dull for sync, but I'm planning to get Missing Sync to sync with address book, ical, itunes & iphoto.

VZW coverage is the best, though I might be swayed if Apple releases a GSM only iPhone come January
