Going to order a FireStick to replace my ATV2 and my Smart TV fetchers and want to know if I need a Voice Remote or not? Also, do I want to grab a FireTV? Figured a Stick for now and if it works good I can always move it to my second TV and grab an ATV4 "if" they ever offer amazon prime...

Voice remotes record everything you say and pass it back to the mothership. The better to market personalized ads as I remember...

No iphone/ipad to use Prime to ATV via Airplay? Or is the ATV2 too old for airplay?

We have iPhones, iPads, etc. However, I hate tying up an iOS device to watch a TV show...

I should probably investigate this further, but I bought a voice remote version of the Fire TV Stick for my wife for Christmas and I believe that when she used the voice remote, it automatically looked for the show or movie on the Amazon site, even if we knew it was on Netflix or something else. I'm sure there's a way to "teach" it, but as I said, I haven't investigated.

The voice remote allows you to use it similar to an echo, and use Alexa

What sucks is that I have a 42” Vizio “Smart TV” which gives me Amazon Prime and NetFlix… However, they haven’t upgraded the damn firmware so there are no “favorites” or “lists” in the Amazon App and Vizio (or Amazon) do not plan on updating it at this time…

Really want ONE DIVICE to handle my cable TV, NetFlix and Amazon…
