She's use to my old Apple Ext KB II from my IIci, via USB adapter.

can't wait for those early morning calls of "the computer is broken again".
but at least she'll have a Mac capable of using the broadband available where she lives.
And iPhoto at last. She's upgrading from a iMac 266.

I moved my 70 y.o. Mom from an iMac266 running 8.6 to a G4 Mini 1.25 last Turkey Day. The first major call I got was three months later when the plug got pulled accidently. She wanted to know what she was supposed to do at the login screen

Embarassing myself on the Internet since 1978.

mom's 85 and this is her bday present. she's been on me about getting a faster computer and "learning to the web thing, whatever that is".

I'm hoping this will be more intuitive. In any case, at least we'll both be on the same system and I won't have to struggle to remember OS 9.2 over the phone, should that happen.

Boscos Screen Share -- use it with my mom all the time to access her mac from mine --- suuuuper simple to setup and use -- plus its free =)

if you have a compusa near you they may still have the kensington pilot board/mouse for $10 after rebate, not a bad board, but like all wireless mice, theirs feels "heavy" to me after adding 2 AA batteries

My mom is also close to that age... she has a PC and is always remarking about the little messages from Outlook that she can't read. I have to leave the tech support to the Windows folk in the family... really did try to lobby for a Mac when she last updated her computer but she wanted to stay with what she knew.
