Is the Metorological Events staff taking the day off?

6.5 foot tsunami expected sometime, but I can't figure the timezone particulars w/regard to any of the news stories.

So I'm still in doubt re: Japan? I could go to the "when in doubt" site, but they're not planning any updates?

I hope Rusty's report is correct--wasn't the Indonesia tsunami less than half the height of this one's initial report?

Don't take my word, how about the post that was posted 14 minutes before yours?

Take a look at the third paragraph:

A TSUNAMI HAS BEEN OBSERVED AT THE FOLLOWING SITES
HANASAKI, JAPAN 30CM/1.0FT
KUSHIRO, JAPAN 25CM/0.8FT
SHEMYA, ALASKA 20CM/0.65FT
AMCHITKA, ALASKA 8CM/0.25FT
WAVE HEIGHTS ARE THE AMPLITUDE ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL.

It looks like it's all smiles in Japan right now. We all dodged another one! All of us on the coasts that is.

Hope so--I read that paragraph as describing the small tsunami that would precede the 2m biggie. Reports now do seem encouraging.
