And just wait till someone figure out how to hack them.

Free Frosties for everyone!

Seriously though, I hate that these entry level, high school kid jobs are going away. This is where many young people get their first foray into responsibility. Society wants them to interact with adults, act like adults, learn skills, etc but then take away the opportunities that can make it happen. Are all kids going to do a great job? no, but many do. This, and similar moves by other companies are going to put an end to this. There are fewer and fewer opportunities for our youth to start on the road to success.

Everyone needs to remember that just as countries compete for tax dollars, employees compete for jobs. If people want their pay increased, they have to remember that once it's more cost effective for the job to be replaced by technology, the job will go away.

Then the door-Nazi gets confused because the receipt says I have twice as many items as they see in the cart.

In this country I don't show a receipt to anyone once I leave the cashier. They can call a cop if they think I've stolen something.

Note to self: Never go shopping with Speedy.

Nice!

Wendys is the only major fast food provider that refused to join the Fair Food Program. This is a partnership among growers, farm workers, and tomato buyers to improve the lives of farm workers.

It would have added 1¢ per pound to the cost of the tomatoes they buy.

Arby's and Wendy's merged. Did Arby's also not join the program?

So they're not gonna make octagonal burgers?

What a waste of a thread.

They should make hexagonal burgers, can be packed more efficiently than octagonal burgers.

And when might that be? There is a shortage of techs to maintain POS equipment in many places already. So it might be in 5 hours, or 5 days.

No there isn't. There is a shortage of techs who will work for the $12 to $15 per hour that POS vendors want to pay. The skill set they need is identical to an IT worked who can make $20 to $25 per hour. POS system vendors have got to be the cheapest shadiest vendors around. I have yet to run across one that actually cares about anything other than making the sale.

In other words, just as I said, there is a shortage of techs to maintain POS equipment. Just because there are techs who work elsewhere in the economy does not mean they will automatically be available at the rates the POS vendors are paying. And at that pay rate, what techs they do get are not the best.

I'm not sure why someone would want to work as a tech for $12-15 per hour, after paying for training etc., if the people flipping the burgers are making that too.

Maybe because their wages will also rise to meet market?
If the pay were equal, would you sit on your ass and code or sweat your excess weight into someones burger. You do tend to get radical thoughts but then you already know that.
