I just ate a mini-milky way... does nougat exist anywhere on God's green earth except in a Milky Way, Snickers or Three Musketeers?

Why did nobody ever call them on that when the word was part of their marketing for decades?

It's a real word.:
nougat, noun, a candy made from sugar or honey, nuts, and egg white. ORIGIN early 19th cent.: from French, from Provençal nogat, from noga ‘nut.’

nougat? Isn't that the Red Rocker candy maker?

google torrone and pray your local Italian, French, Spanish or other specialty food store doesn't have a good one.
I'm utterly addicted to the stuff. Just plain nougat.
Ferrara and Sperari are big makers, but theirs are weak.
The little mom/pops spread across the old world make the real deal.
Easier to find during xmas and easter.

I know--I read your post and the definition of "nougat" that comes up when you right-click the word and consult the dictionary.

I shouldn't have implied that the "marketing genius" made up the term out of whole cloth, only that it's about as good as "phlegm" as an enticement to eat a tasty confection.
