Can anyone suggest something I don't need that I can buy for Prime day? Something really useless.

Based on the wording of your question, I don't think there's a better answer than the first item that popped up for me...adjustable collar stays:

"Amazon Fire TV Stick is one of the best USB-sized devices in 2016"

It's impressive that the Amazon Fire TV Stick requires so little energy, especially once you find out what the Fire TV Stick has going on inside the box – namely, a Broadcom dual-core processor, 1GB of memory and 8GB of storage. Comparing that to the Chromecast, which sports a single-core processor, 512MB of memory and 2GB of memory, Amazon's miniature stick comes out the clear winner.

Just ordered an unlocked Huawei Honor 5X smartphone for $119.99 to replace my old Samsung flip phone, looks like a pretty neat phone for the price. Only has 16GB of storage but for my limited purposes (voice and texting on prepaid T-Mobile plan) that doesn't matter:

life is good. I searched and searched but there's nothing on Amazon today that would improve my life without creating more clutter. for today at least I have enough.

Graylocks,

They've got a solid deal on a Hoover Air hand vacuum. $55. Normally $69, though that varies in the usual Amazon.com fashion. Over $89 everywhere else.

Had a frugal friend that asked me to get her a Firestick like mine, when I saw it at a good price. So I pulled the trigger on the Amazon Prime deal. Its like $27+ with tax, and shipping 2 days, but may be more it said.

I picked up one of the $33 Fire tablets. At that price it's an impulse buy (similar to the original $19 price on the Fire Stick). Also an acoustic guitar strap for my new 12-string...

I doubt it. I had the first gen Chromecast and it worked splendidly for most things. I don't even like my first gen Fire TV, which might be quad core. It's not about specs, but how the devices functions. The Fire Stick has a full blown OS with a launcher, apps, settings, etc. The Chromecast has something like three settings and then just sits there as a receptacle for receiving content. Different use cases.
