Any suggestions for wireless headphones for use with a TV?

Hi,

My mom has asked for recommendations for wireless headphones for her husband who likes the TV turned up too loudly for my mom's sanity. :-)

Her husband is pretty much confined to a wheelchair, so something that could potentially be recharged on a table next to his chair would be preferred, rather than having to be taken to the tv to be recharged on the transmitter (as I saw with one model).

If possible, I'd also prefer that the transmitter either receive power from an electrical outlet, or some port on the TV (not sure if any port would give power). The TV model is a Samsung UN40EH5300FXZA. The web page below shows the ports available:

It has HDMI, USB, Component, Digital Audio, and Mini Jack (standard 1/8" headphone type, I presume).

Thanks, in advance, for any feedback.

Doug

TV Ears work pretty well. I've used them before I got hearing aids.

This was long ago, in a state far, far away...tried wireless ones but the sound quality sucked (so he said). Ended up with the wired plug in type and peace prevailed in the household....no blood spilled.

I would think that current Bluetooth technology would work well.

This is pretty much a sure sign that HE needs hearing aids.

I've used the Sennheiser RS 120 for a year now. Plugs into 120v, and it recharges by simply setting the headphones on the base unit's 2 metal holders. I've moved 100 feet from the TV and still get good audio. With 10,000+ reviews on Amazon, you'll find any questions you might have at Amazon. Works great for me.

However, having the base unit far away from the TV (for charging) could be problematical. The cord that plugs into the TV/Cable box is only about 3 feet long. However, the cord simply unplugs from the TV/Cable box & base unit, so you could buy a longer extension. LyleH
