Haven't tried the app in question, but in general I have found Apple's automatic "enhancers" to be clearly superior to anything on the Windows side I have tried.

It looks like MS Pix is better for auto-brightening low light or shadow-dominated shots. If I had a new enough iPhone, I'd have already downloaded and tested it.
