I need to transfer some money to a college student. I see there is a "send by mobile device" option on my bank's web page. Any experience? Safe?

Have used a couple of different systems - I've not found any that are instantaneous quite yet - most take a day or two for the registration stuff to kick in - same bank to same bank would be much faster.

Looking for the website my brother had used...

I have heard there are ways to send it via text message, especially useful for people with family overseas who might not have a computer or smartphone.

I got my sons Paypal debit cards. And I put money in there via my paypal account (from my linked checking account). No cost. Fees if they want to pull the money out in cash, none if they use them for general transactions. Works great, and I do it via Chrome on my iPhone. (Paypal app and paypal's mobile web page is freaking useless for anything special.. morons.)

You can put the money in their PayPal accounts then they can transfer that money to their Pay Pal Debit Cards for free. They can also access a free network of ATM's. But the limit is $300 per day from PayPal to PayPal Debit and $2000 ever 30 days.

My son has been using Venmo from his phone for a couple of years. Appears to be owned by PayPal now.

We use Square all the time to send money to both college kids. They also use it amongst their friends.

Works great & pretty much instant. They basically never use physical cash.

All hackable. Cash isn't. You just get beat over the head for it.
