I have an iPhone SE about 6 weeks old. I think I am running iOS 9.3.4, and this probably happened in 9.3.3 and 9.3.2 IIRC.

When I open the camera, usually from locked screen, the camera shows the live image for a split second after which it "freezes." You know what I mean. It no longer shows a live image, I cannot frame, focus, etc.

I need to touch the screen and then the camera becomes live again and I can take pictures. This is annoying as sometimes makes me miss some action shots. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens often enough that made me ask here. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change, or is this an iOS bug?

I had that happen on my iPhone shortly after the iOS 9 update.

Just needed to do a force-reboot.

Worth a try: Hold down the sleep and home buttons simultaneously until the phone restarts.

You could try opening the app switcher and forcing the camera app to close.

I've never had the photo app get wonky but I've had iTunes start doing this thing where you can't get in to pick a song ( but it will keep playing your list ) and force quitting everything if not just the photo app ( you'll read over and over again this does nothing ) straightens it out without having to force-reboot.
