Retro History... What's the term?

There's a term folks use for looking back at decisions made in the past, but using the insight we have from today... It's a pejorative term, meant to suggest that the person is not being fair to use hindsight. They should evaluate the decision based on the information that was available at the time the decision was made.

Ring a bell with anyone?

"Near the day of Purification, there will be cobwebs spun back and forth in the sky."
"A container of ashes might one day be thrown from the sky, which could burn the land and boil the oceans."

> Revisionist History.

Revisionist history is when the Bush administration insists contrary to all evidence that we invaded Iraq to bring freedom and democracy to that country and then censors all government reports suggesting otherwise.

It seems from the description that you're looking for a phrase like "hindsight is 20:20" or something like that?

SteveJobs- Are you sure you don't mean Republican pseudo-utopianism? You know, the good old days when children were children, women were women, men were men and sheep were scared?
