I think their onto something! grinning smiley

If you’re someone who hates misused apostrophes in text messages, someone has made an iPhone app for you: Grammar Snob lets you overlay corrections on top of people’s texts and send them back.

I need one that smacks people on ESPN who say "verse" instead of "versus".

I want to smack the ESPN guys who pronounce "tournament" as "twuornament" instead of "turnament." I think these are the same people who overuse "whom."

Yeah, that one bugs the crap out of me. Even more so because the guilty parties are people who should know better.

Another unwelcome trend on ESPN is the use of adjectives instead of adverbs: "he/she/they took it personal" is one of the frequent offenders.

I just want them to use "whom" correctly.

There is something sad to me about seeing people insult each other on the internet by calling each other "loosers".

TheOatmeal came up with an easy way to remember this:

lose - the opposite of win
loose - your mom

(BTW, it's spelled < y'all >.)

It's ESPN itself that bugs me.
