Experiences with WiFi light/dimmer switches?

I'm looking to replace all the light switches(and outlets) in my house with white rocker style. There are a half a dozen rooms with dimmers and one outlet that I would like to replace with wifi units that are able to be turned on and off and dimmed from an iOS app. I'm guessing that would probably work off wifi or with a controller of some sort. I've found quite a few on Amazon, anyone have any direct experience?

check out insteon at Smarthome
with a hub you can use an app or get an Echo with the hub and voice control your lights
Dimmers are about $49 each but they have discounts regularly or check on Amazon

After doing some research, I bought a Samsung Smartthings hub. So far. I love it. I've paired it with some Samsung plugs as well as some Cree bulbs. I've got a couple dimmer switches and motion sensors as well that I plan on installing in key locations. The Smartthings hub uses the Zigbee protocol but it also does Z-wave. Both of which are a mesh type network. So the more "nodes" you have the better the coverage. But the Smartthings hub DOES need to be connected to the interwebs so you can use the app to set up scenes and automations. It also has a very active developer community. I actually just installed an app that someone in the community wrote that allows the Smartthings to control my Nest. Which is does not do out of the box.
