This Weather!

Record high temp today for November: 88. Extreme dry/drought conditions in the state. 83 right now at 6:00 PM. Gets cooler this weekend but it has been unseasonably warm and dry the past few weeks here in Nashville. It's November for Pete's sake.

Here, in North-Central Florida, we're able to grow plants that previously survived only in regions south of Orlando and Tampa. Yes, it makes for more pleasant winters--not that they were ever bad--but I'd trade it for more rain and less ocean encroachment on Miami beaches.

In upstate SC, we're expecting mid 80's tomorrow. Comfy 72 right now though.

I have to admit that I miss the cold Novembers of upstate NY, but winters in SC are much more pleasant overall.

It's fun to watch the drama when a shrinking of snow occurs, though. Granted, we don't have the same amount of equipment to clear snow, but the massive school cancellations that occur when there is a slight possibility of a sprinkle cause great hilarity in my household.

I've been in Orlando for 22 years, and it's been many years since we've had a hard freeze... maybe 10 years? I've noticed some plants growing here that are supposedly for areas in South Florida. But I'm worried every winter that we're going to get another hard freeze and it'll kill several of my plants.

Seattle had a record number of days of rain in October, along with a record amount of rain.

Weather Channel had a prediction of a band of cold from Wisconsin down to southern Georgia this Winter.

No snow yet this year, only a few freezes. It has been very, very mild. I'm typing this at 5AM and it is 32F, average is 28F. Yesterday we got up to 58F (average 48F) and I had to turn on the air conditioning because it was too windy to open the windows because it was a bit dusty thanks to the farmers in the field and the lack of rain.

Nice and warm here! (for November):

It was 61°F when I got to work this morning at 4AM. The rain is coming which will knock temps into the 50's. Yesterday it was 73°F, not a record, but quite warm for western Michigan in November.

Interesting: An automated cam pic and a government work and they're claiming copyright. Somebody in Wyoming is asking for a lawsuit against the state.

Feds can't copyright, other government entities can if they wish.

True. I take it for granted that most states have adopted the same exception and that's not always the case. 'Can't find any Wyoming legislation at all on the matter in a quick search of findlaw.com...

Regardless, it's uncopyrightable subject-matter. An automated traffic camera has no authorship, direction or originality. Somewhat less creative than the layout of a phone book.
