If I lose my emails, will they all come back? Backing up to iCloud is not working right.

Not restarting. The same questions would apply about upgrading my OS. The main hang up is I can't seem to get my pictures and movies off of it. My G4 doesn't see the phone when connected and neither did a friend's PC. iCloud doesn't work right and I ran out of room on Dropbox. So, it's resetting I need do do or maybe upgrading the OS, not restarting.

At one point I think it was free, but looks like you have to pay for it now. You may need an older version, depending on the OS you are working with. I admit, it's a bit clunky, and will take forever with your iPhone 4S (I've got one too and the transfer does take a long time) - but it works.

For images- if your version of OS has it - image capture

Edit: Sorry! Reread a follow up post. Not sure what to do when the computer does not recognize it. That's a problem. Try a new cable?

You sure your charge port (iP4s- not sure if that's lightning or what) isn't filled with lint? Carefully take a toothpick to it and see.
