Prince of Persia....

....wedding, last night.....

The opulence, "we has it"....

The spread, we have it...

Persian food, we got it....

Although the groom is Persian, the bride is Mexican, so we mix it up a bit.
A very good folklorico dance ensemble....

The lights get dimmed and the Persian side comes in, the traditional dance of The LED Butterfly....

The obligatory fire sword dance....
She also did a belly dance set, amazing stamina, she danced like this for about an hour, plus...

The flower toss...

The garter pull...

Good time was had by all....

Yeah, first class, but not in your face.
I have been friends with the father of the groom for the last 20years, this was a pale imitation of the shindig he threw about five years ago when his daughter got married.....

Dayum, that is a lot of bling and food. That carved head of Annubis, or some jackal looking critter, on the food table is pretty scary. Lol

Looks like a great party.

Love that - especially the surprise Mexican theme!

What part of the country? I would guess Long Island, where a lot of Persians have settled. Those chandeliers make me think of a place near Peter Lugers Steakhouse just over the Queens border that looks a bit over-the-top, though I've never been inside.

Houston, a small Iranian community, very well settled in and well adapted, almost invisible to outsiders.
Actually we have two and half distinct communities, the Shia (this wedding), the Bahai (I have been to one of theirs about ten years ago) and a very small one of Iranian Jews.....
