New Mini, rather peppy

We picked up a trio of Mini's Display models, deal too hard to pass up
1) late 2014 3.0 i7 8gb 1tb fusion
1) Late 2014 i5 2.8
1) 2.4 ghz C2D machine
All three were used, all three mint condition. All we got were the computers, no cords, keyboard, mice etc.
$1250 for all three.

Anyway, I added the 3.0 i7 dual core to my production office where I have been using a Mac Pro, 2006 model 2 2.66 Xeon dual core machine.

Basically a photoshop workstation and what I have noticed is that the little mini is much faster at things like loading RAW files into Camera raw, saving and loading files from our servers (Gig ethernet), the general interface is much snappier. When it comes to processing RAW files, crunching data, the new Mini is slightly faster then the Mac Pro with 2x2x2.66 Xeon.

Did you have an SSD in the Mac Pro?

If you need s.o. to take it off your hands, PM me.

The Mac Pro is loaded with drives, 2TB, 4TB and 2 5TB drives. Still using it for RAW processing

I'm not seeing a SSD in that list.

500 gb SSD with OS and scratch disk on a 6g pcie sata card would make a world of difference.

That 3GHz i7 mini may only be dual core, but it's a little screamer as long as you aren't comparing to a quad core using quad core aware apps. It blows the quad cores away if you are just using dual core aware apps.

I have a 2.3 i7 Quad mini at home for my home computer. It really crunches through RAW files but the 2014 3.0 i7 dual feels faster. I have to put ram in my 2.3 quad mini, it still has 4gb ram in it. The newer one in my studio has 8gb but seems it is not upgradable
