OK, what digital camers do you own?

Panasonic Lumix FZ 200, Pentax k7 with kit zooms and 50mm 1.8, Nikon S10, the most convenient for quick copy work, Canon A430, I think.

Pron might need his own thread for this.

Ones I use Canon 1DX & 1DsII. Also have 1DII and a Kodak DCS-560. They all work, I don't use the last two anymore

Pentax K-5. I remember posting here, not long after I got it, the question "is this a ten-year camera?" It's not been that long yet but I'm still extremely pleased with this camera.

Also: Original Pentax Q, and Pentax MX-1.

My K 7 might be a ten-year camera. K5 even better. If only they had a tilt screen.

Yeah, I guess I'm headed into year five with my K-5 - upgraded from the K-r that I gave to the SiL after upgrading. Sorely tempted to rent a K-1 to try it out... but why rent when I'm gonna want it. Then I remember that I by and far don't have an absolute need to upgrade...

Anyway, also still have Sony R1, H1, U20, W200 rolling around in drawers.

Canon Rebel T2i (use mostly with Tamron 18-270)

Canon SX50 (got the refurb that was touted here a year or so ago).

Canon A1400 (last itty-bitty P&S with a viewfinder).

iPhone 5

iPhone 6 (for every day shooting)

Panasonic Lumix GM5 (for high quality and low light shooting)

Fujifilm F800EXR (Superzoom for pocketable moderate quality shots in good light)

The Fujifilm is going by the wayside now that I have the GM5. It's similar to the popular SX50...long lens, very compact, but the noise level goes to hell in anything but very bright lighting.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

An old Olympus P&S was the first one. Mostly used for quick shots for our rescue group and for stuff I was selling on eBay.

In 2006, I was given a Pentax *istDS 2 with the stock 18-55 lens, by an acquaintance who writes tech reviews, mainly of cameras. I could not have afforded it otherwise. It was my only dSLR for 4 years, which I regret somewhat: I wish I had higher resolution images of some of what I shot and certainly would have loved a longer lens. In spring 2010 I got a Pentax K-x, which came with an 18-55 and a 50-200. I shot a ton wih that camera. The next upgrade was to a K-5, which I didn't use nearly as much as I'd have liked, due to working all the time.

The two that I currently use are a K-3 and a K-3 II. I love them both. One has an 18-270, the other a 55-300. I'd like to have a K-1 at some point, but the price would have to come down.

I have upgraded to new cameras pretty regularly as money permitted, and I have been happy with them, which I can't say about computers recently. Each new camera has been a noticeable improvement on its predecessor.

Unlike film cameras, digital cameras are throwaway items, since they're only as good as the electronics inside them.

My first digital camera was a Canon PowerShot A570 IS. When it quit working, into the trash it went.

I only have two digital cameras now.

- iPhone 4s

- Panasonic DMC-LX7

Pentax K5- like other users above, I bought this as a long-term camera, to replace my Canon Rebel (which is still in use- mostly now by my son, but also occasionally by me with lensBaby lenses)
Panasonic DMC-ZS50, as a carry round and super zoom camera.
Pentax Optio M30-bought as a semi-disposable pocket camera before all phones had at least equivalent cameras in them. This little camera has just kept on going. Mostly now used in situations when I don't want to risk one of the other cameras- beach, snow etc....
I also still have a Toshiba camera somewhere about, and a Ricoh film SLR- which never gets used, but has donated lenses to the K5. Oh, and a 1930s Leica that I picked up from a yard sale. One day, with a bit of luck, I may get that into working condition. (I realize that the last two are not digital).

I have had various digital cameras over the last 15 years or so- and apart from the very first (which shot at 640x480) which was dropped, resulting in a modified battery compartment, all of the rest are in the list above, and still (probably) work- though I'm not sure about the Toshiba. The Rebel was a real work horse, and with its 50mm f1.8 lens, still takes wonderful pictures.

The camera on my phone is truly awful.

cheers
scott

Canon 10D bought almost 14 years ago. Still works perfectly and because of that I have a hard time justifying buying a newer one...

Sony A7II
Sony RX100v3
iPhone 7

The A7.is great, but the large lenses defeat the point of a smaller body.

Thinking to get a smaller Fuji mirrorless or a good travel zoom to add to the list.

Sony A550. That model preceded the inclusion of any video recording features on Sony DSLRs, but for my purposes that has been fine. Shot well over 10,000 frames since I got it in mid-2010.

Check out the Panny GM5. Small body, small (and high quality) lenses, viewfinder, and only slightly smaller sensor.

Off the top of my head, I have 2 Nikon D3, 2 D800, D7000, and some other bodies that I can't think of at the moment. I can quit anytime I want.
