I was wondering if anyone else out there has worked through this problem. When I try to go to the printer utility on my epson 2200, there is a good chance that my machine is just going to hang looking for the printer. The damn driver takes down the whole machine. I have this problem at work as well as at home. I've repaired permissions and covered all the other basics. In the past I've gone as far as reinstalling the driver without seeing an improvement.

Yeah, I went through the same junk with it. It seemed to get a little better after I moved up to the last revision of Panther. I used to get the spinner and then it would quit..sometimes my printer wouldn't print blah blah. I never really pursued it to hard because I could always get it running after a few times. Most of the time I used a RIP for that machine so it wan't anythingI had to deal with regularily. It didn't take my the whole machine down with it though. Sorry I can't offer you a plan, I always wondered if anyone else went through it.

Are you connected to it using Firewire or USB? I gave up on Firewire
a long time ago with my 2200. I can print fine to it using the Tiger Epson
driver or with Imageprint RIP.

seems that i needed to change an ink cart that wasn't quite empty. could print with it but couldn't use the damn utility
