client gift question/suggestion

Yes, it's that time of year again. I could have sworn there was a thread about this last year here, or maybe it was at dealmac, since this forum had just begun. I've just spent ten minutes searching both places to no avail.

Before I just decide to be boring and order a fruit basket for a client, I'm open to any interesting ideas. Budget is under $100. It's a small staff of the owner/Pres. and about three others. Whatever I send, I'm inclined to have it arrive on the week just before Christmas. Or do you think it would be better a week earlier (next week)? Does the timing even matter?

I don't know about the timing issue, but how about popcorn? I know the person who owns and operates cornzapoppin.com. He's a great guy and the popcorn is yummy. You can pick all sort of baskets or tins.

Cheers,

Shane

Ditto the corn.

That's what I'm corntemplating for a few of my fave clients.

I usually give my clients Invoice Baskets for Christmas..all sorts of different invoices in those things...time billed for this and that...materials- marked up 50 percent of course...sometimes I throw in a nice invoice for time spent on the phone and meetings.

All neatly arranged in a nice basket with a beautiful bow and a card that says..Terms: 30 days from invoice date(s) unless otherwise negotiated. rights and usage periods commence upon payment. Any usage implemented before payment is a direct violation of the terms of this contract. ..Merry Christmas

Seriously...I find that my clients respond much more positively to gifts that were researched in a personal way..try to get some tips from the help..his or her family...pry a little, nobody will tell on you.

One year I had my, then, four year old boy do a drawing that we scanned and reproduced as a card, it was a huge hit..the tag line said .."Thanks for paying my daddy to make you look good, he bought me some new clothes."

I do pens and chocolate.

Pens come in a box like this.

This place [www.senatorpen.com] has unique pen designs that cannot be bought in stores and they do free logo imprints and will even personalize each pen with your customer's engraved name. Oh yeah their minimum order is low as well.

They have pen's that range from $1 up to a Mont Blanc equivalent at $100.

Check em out.

Did you read my earlier thread about the Kettle sampler? I'd love to get one of those for Christmas - the cost is $20.
