x264 codec in Quicktime 7? Date: January 13, 2006 03:40PM |
I have a video which is encoded in x264 (not QT H264). Neither QT 7 nor QT 6 Pro will read it. VLC will.
There is a codec out that will allow QT to encode in x264. It requires QT 7 and Tiger. But I don't have QT7 Pro, just QT 6 Pro.
I tried installing this codec to see if QT 7 could then READ x264 files, and it still would not.
Anyone know if QT 7 PRO could read an x264 file with this codec installed? Or is this just for encoding, not playing?
