Distribution lists in Mail?

Somehow I must not be seeing this. How do I make distribution lists in Mail? (I checked the Mail Help, and didn't see anything about it...)

I think you use Address Book for that.

Yes. The Address Book application is the tool.
Use the Group feature. Then right-click (ctrl-click) on the group name and choose to send e-mail.

M A V I C, thanks for help. I wouldn't have thunk that... surprised that there's no option from within Mail for it, seems fairly unintuitive.

seems fairly unintuitive.

Yes, if you hadn't followed Apple's attempts to centralize contact management on a computer. Rather than having an address book in iChat, one in Mail.app... there's just one altogether. That's where one creates groups and such, so all app (which are built to) can take advantage of all of the organization there.

M A V I C, yes, it makes sense to me NOW... it just didn't when I was trying to find it!

By the way -- I am having a little problem with Address Book maybe you guys can help solve. I have multiple email addresses for myself listed in my entry in Address Book, how does the app decide which one to use when you are writing an email? It seems to be using some rule that I cannot decipher to pick which one to use, and of course it's using the wrong one...

Thanks again...

Peter, I didn't mean to imply that there was anything wrong with you not already knowing the answer to your question.

As far as your new question, I know what you mean. I'm not sure, but it may be related to the Accounts sys pref.

Yup, just found it-- it is again in a (not to me) obvious place ... under Edit in Address Book, there is "Edit Distribution Lists", which allows you to select which address you want used for a particular contact when they are in a group. What I'm not sure about is how Mail chooses amongst the email addresses for a particular contact when you're NOT using a group/distribution list...
