My father stopped smoking a pipe 10 years ago.
The deciding factor was his third heart attack.
Now, at age 90, his lungs and heat are working better than at any time since his first heart attack at age 48, and he has the mind of a man twenty years younger than he is.
He's a poster child for the benefits of stopping smoking, even a pipe.

I smoked a pipe for several years off and on. Borkum Riff was my brand. It's been 15-18 years since I quit.

Wow. I haven't heard that name in years. That was my oldest brothers brand as well. Good smelling stuff, as I recall. I work with a gentleman who still smokes a pipe. Of course, he has to step outside in order to smoke it.

Does it count if it's a pipe shaped vaporizer?

You haven't been to Brooklyn recently?

Bearded hipster bros wearing skinny girl jeans and vintage clothing can't do without.

I have a buddy who smokes a corncob pipe. For real. We were having beers last night. I kind of like it.

With a testimonial like that, why would anyone even think its a good idea?

And yeah, its savage hipster style

you know, that graphic is all the funnier because of the Bic pen. I still have a bitchin' Clarion 9200 RT tape deck in my '69 Buick. Sound rivals a CD with metal tapes. And tapes don't "skip" with a stiff suspension.

Cassette tape users still know what the Bic pen was for, its hex shape was just the right size for manually winding in the tape after a mishap.

Not many people know it, but I invented the Bic pen thing.

We always used a #2 pencil to wind tape.

Smoked a pipe for thirty years, went cold turkey 17 years ago. i still have the pipes in a cupboard, figure I will live long enough to not give a dang and take it up again. If there is still tobacco at that point.

Actually, I quit because my dentist noticed white spots on the roof of my mouth and said he was going to send me for a biopsy if they were there at my next cleaning. It still took me a year to get around to quitting. I just ran out of tobacco one day and decided to not buy anymore.

And we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.

We may have screwed over the Native Americans with alcohol, but they got us back with tobacco.
