I have that mower. This will be the fifth summer I'll be using it. Nothing stops it (within reason) - I've even accidentally run over small branches with it with no problems. On one occasion, I hit a metal impact sprinkler - the sprinkler was totally destroyed, but the mower kept on going as though nothing had happened.

I have a quarter-acre lawn. I needed to buy an additional high-capacity battery to use when mulching or cutting particularly long grass. The mower holds two batteries, automatically changing to the second battery after depleting the first. It's not a big deal to change out a battery 2/3 the way through the mowing. Of note: After four years, all three batteries still hold a good charge.

It is one of the best purchases I've made. At the advertised $259, it's a great deal.

How well does it work bagging when cutting long wet grass? Does it cut all the way out to the wheels, like if you are cutting along a fence or the house foundation?

Interesting! I am in the market for a battery mower and am considering the Ego which at Home Depot is on sale for only $449. Next door neighbor let me borrow his for a trial run and I like it a lot, but $259sure beats $449 if the mowers work essentially the same.

One feature of the Ego is that it can be stored standing upright taking less room on the floor. The Greenworks does no seem to store that way.

I've seen a couple partial foot amputations from people who slipped on wet grass while mowing, so I avoid doing that. It does well bagging overall; the battery lasts longer than when mulching. I can do the full quarter-acre without changing to the spare battery if I bag. It does cut out to the wheels - you can get pretty close to the foundation.

The handles fold down so that it can be stored under a bench. It takes up less space in the garage than my push mower because of this.

I spent the last few hours watching a movie and reading Amazon reviews (there are over a thousand IIRC) on this mower. Considering the sale price above and the fact it would probably cost me $50-100 to fix my gas mower, I pulled the trigger on this mower in time for the sale price. I was also looking at the Ego for $449, and there was an Echo at HD for $349 - but that one only has 1 battery (but is 5Mah). It does have a 5-yr warranty though.

Overall this GW gets decent to very good reviews. I figure it is worth a shot.

I was very tempted. But my gas mower still works (knock on wood, it did last year) so I'm better off spending the money elsewhere.

Here it's rained 24 out of the last 28 days. So for me, avoiding mowing wet grass is a luxury I don't have until after sometime in May on average. My Ryobi slings wet grass into a thick wet mat around the periphery of the deck/blade guard until the blade slows down from contact.

Anyone in the market, Lowe's also has a GW 60v, 4MaH battery (only one batt though) for $349 on sale. The great thing about this class of mower is they'll keep getting better and cheaper. I love that they don't pollute as much as a gas mower. Wish I could go solar with my house, but I don't think panels are there yet for my shade cover.

Jumped on the deal for the Greenworks dual blade mower and it arrived today. Did not even wait for both batteries to charge. I charged the small one and started mowing while the big one was on the charger. Made it through most of the lawn (which is way too kind of a word to describe what I have) on that first battery. The large one, even only half charged finished the job.

I might take it over to the house I am selling and see how far it goes on that much larger lot. I can always pull out the Honda gas machine if needed.

I did order a second charger so that I can be sure both batteries are fully charged, I'll want that if I get the leaf blower and retire the Black and Decker blower which wears out a battery about every year.

Thanks to pRICE cUBE for the post!
