He has a new house and I'd like to help him stream Apple Music. But he's also divorced with a kid and I don't want our apps, photos or data to commingle. He already had one awkward situation where one of his iMessages showed up on the kid's phone. Thoughts?

In iTunes, aren't there 'Check Boxes" where you choose what content gets shared (when you set up Sharing)? I'm pretty sure there used to be.

How about family sharing with your iCloud accounts? That will let you share any purchased iTunes music.

Have his kid get their own Apple I.D and turn on family sharing.

That will eliminate any of the 'misdelivered texting' issues caused by everyone using one Apple I.D. Been there.

You can do this with Plex. You put the Plex server on your computer and point it at your iTunes library. Your brother installs the Plex client on his IOS device. You both have a unique login to the Plex servers but you SHARE your library to him. Works great. This would only work with purchased music of course.

An Apple Music subscription can only be shared with "Family Sharing" billing, so you would also share purchased Apps - i.e. if he purchased an App, it would be billed to your account.

This is one main reason I share a Spotify subscription with my young adult children. $15 a month for the 4 of us.
