Always pay attention when a parrot looks up - you never know what you'll see

I spend time with my neighbors and their parrots most days. For a couple of hours each day they take their parrots out to hang out on the fig tree in the back yard. I join them for at least 15min most days.

I love hanging out with the birds. Parrots don't have binocular vision. One eye sees the right side of the world and the left eye sees the left side of the world.

(Genghis looking up)

TO look up, they turn their whole body sideways until one eye is looking up and the other down. They are looking for predators. Sometimes when they do that, I'll spot a hawk WAY up in the sky, so when they look up, I look up. Might be an eagle.

So... the other day, one of the bird looked up, so I looked up and saw some while things. Very white, I thought maybe it was an egret, but it didn't seem to be flying so I went to get my camera.

This is what I saw flying 1000' up in the air...

w t f ???

Yes, that's a styrofoam box. I saw at least one other and some other white stuff. It was REALLY hard to photograph - a single dot on a solid background.

Yes, it was windy that day, but I find it hard to believe that a styrofoam box could fly that high on it's own. You can see fuzzy little white dots elsewhere in the shot - perhaps more of the same? I dunno... it's a mystery...
