Second; never get your wife an appliance. My wife had some great advice that I began following years ago: always something sparkly.

(Oh, I get her the appliance type stuff and iPod stuff, but that's routine and throughout the year. Birthdays, Christmas, and Valentines Day *require* sparkly -- and that's my rule, not hers.)

You may be safer buying a unitasker ;) Buying appliances for your wife for Xmas is a big no-no. Anything that can be used in the kitchen is not safe - can be used against you way later in life.

But buying a machine that is JUST for relaxation.....

If you know she wants a blender, especially to make tasty icy drinks, I say go ahead and get her one.

I asked for and got an installed garage door opener for Christmas-yes I know it isn't Christmas yet, but I got it early. I would rather not get wet and cold having to open the garage door than to have another "sparkly" thing. But I am probably the exception rather than the rule, so don't necessarily go by me.
