I want to make several short animated films in iMovie using jpeg stills originating from a digital still camera.

I'm wondering how to prep all the jpeg files so that they will be in the most compatible state for dumping into iMovie. They will be exactly the same size etc. I'm just wondering what to shoot for.

Also, should they be in a particular color space..srgb, adobe98?...is there a color space that iMovie uses? This thing will be played on televisions and the internet...im not sure if the vids we see on the net are set up for srgb, or, if that is even possible with video.

Any other tips you think of would be great to hear about.

Most pictures have a resolution of higher than 72 dpi. If you are taking your photos to video, they will only display at 72 dpi. Any program that can resize or change the resolution will help to keep your movie from getting large for no reason.

Wasn't there a free program, other than iMovie, that did Photos to a Movie slide show that
zoomed in on an image before advancing to the next photo?

Jim, I'm going to shoot these things with the movie in mind and then down rez slightly. Does iMovie automatically down rez?

Your thinking of PhotoToMovie or iMagico neither of wich would be good for doing animation IMHO

iPhoto can export to specific pixel sizes, if you choose.

however, you must make the jpgs into indexed color images for an animated gif.
