One of my favorite film composers passed away last month at the very young age of 61. The linked bio gives a great overview of the man; you know his works even if you don't know him -- he composed a great many soundtracks including such films as CONAN THE BARBARIAN and THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER.

I'm surprised I didn't hear of this sooner, being a big soundtrack fan, but I'm off to listen to ANVIL OF CROM now...
