Tonight's episode was good, actually. Decent balance of humor and drama. And, it was a half decent story. Hope they can keep it up.

It had some good parts. Pretty weak on character development, though.

I could NOT get through episode one... if it has a good five+ year run, I might give it another go, but I can't imagine it being worth it.

We just watched the first episode. Wasn't throat-gagging. We will watch episode 2 to see how it evolves.

I had set the episode for DVR but the Football game screwed it up so I have to wait for Comblast to make it available "On Demand".

Hopefully tomorrow evening....

First episode was cool - some humor was "Just enough" - like the Dog liking his balls and making the guy move to the center of the display while the 2nd Husband/Wife spat was TOO MUCH.

Fox has the first episode available for streaming at their website, and at least a placeholder for episode 2 as of last night.

I could only take about 15 minutes of last night's episode (2nd?). IMHO it wasn't funny nor clever enough to be a good spoof, and the plot, script and acting weren't of the quality needed to be an engaging space opera.

....the issue is it isn't innovative enough.....instead of 'spoofing'......it is just stealing the exact same storylines and rehashing them [ no new spin on them ]....the acting is subpar [ especially Seth himself ] and the 'jokes' are not funny enough to make it a 'comedy'.....

Go back and watch the first few episodes of TNG.. they were stilted and the characters had not developed yet. I'm hoping this one improves as well, but for now it is a show I'll watch, but a squirrel outside will divert my attention.

What is up with the name of the ship? It makes me think of the popcorn guy every time.

I enjoyed it. The 'zoo apartment' was obvious way before it was revealed, but no big deal. The gag at the end was great.

yeah, I keep wondering "why hasn't paramount sued them yet?"

now all they need is a sally kellerman look-alike.

or heck, bring her on as an admiral...

In for pilot and episode 1. So far, watered down episodes of ideas that clunked in 1966.

BTW: Rick and Morty just did their take on the alien zoo trope. Take a guess as to whether it was executed beautifully, funny and smart and just a little bit chilling.
