Should I use SQL server, because it's already running on a few servers around here and it's always good to expand my knowledge?

Or MySQL, because Microsoft is evil, and just to be contrary?

What kind of information and how much ?
M$ loves to make more money- if you have to store a LOT of data, you tend to have to 'expand' your application, and pay more license money.
