I wonder what is the max resolution it supports, I didn't see it listed in the specs.

Drat! The Video Loca B'in fast3d2000 PCI card is not Mac compatible. I just unnecessarily mutilated my PowerMac 8600 and built an extension onto my office in order to accommodate it.

It's OK.. use the liquid cooling setup you've built and attach it to an inflatable hot tub instead.

All current generation Nvidia (and I think AMD) cards support 8K, 7680x4320.

This is correct, but it's DisplayPort only. It's happened more than once that when a new display comes out, some older cards will support an even higher standard. My bet is someone has a 10K display on the drawing board.

interesting that is has 1080 in the name. Is it optimized for 1080p resolution, or is that just a coincidence?

Coincidence. Their other cards are 1070, 1060, 1050, and 1030. Reduced performance and cost as the numbers go down.

Are there other display standards which support 8K? HDMI 2.1 hasn't been released yet so 8K DP is the only game in town.
