That is the total of all the responses to ALL of the posts since you left.

It appears I'm going to have to stay home every day and just post 18 hours per day.

It does seem a "tad" high, non?

I think it might have some connection to the number of seconds since you were last here . . . smiling smiley

You need to "Mark all Read" or log out when you leave. That will reset it. There may be a timeout as well but I don't know what it is set to. Maybe the admin can tell you.

Been a while since I woke to 57 new emails, the place is jumpin' and if it keeps up like this I'm gonna' have to delete the email notice.

Once everyone and everything settles in things will slow down? No, not to a screeching halt like the Other Place, but to a certain normality whereas I will not see, "Since your last visit, 959 new messages have been post!".

Maybe it's the Barry Bonds of forums and it just keeps miraculously gaining size in an incredibly short period of time and will soon be outperforming all other forums on the internet. If Larry starts talking about The Clear, pretend you didn't hear anything winking smiley

Wowzer, I can point you to another forum where there is *considerably* less traffic if that would help winking smiley
