Apple Aluminum Wired Keyboard -- $150???

Ugh. So they stop making them and now they are worth 4X the price?

Sheesh, Id put an ad over in For Sale, but If you have one and never plan on using it, put it on ebay for $150. Easy money.

Guess I should have bought more when they were $39 at the Radio Shack closeout.

Will have to start shopping for cheap 21.5" iMac with keyboards, keep the keyboard, then resell for less.

Hmm, I might have had "new" checked.

I guess I would need to know how "used" "used" is.

I see a 'seller refurbished' grade A for $50 that looks nice --guess I could try that.

Although almost tempted to get the matias BT one for $88 at OWC... [eshop.macsales.com]

The wired aluminum is my keyboard of choice, and I do still have one in shrink wrap just in case. But the day will come when I need one.

Anyone ever tried the Matias?

Sweet if true. I welcome the next Airport Card/10.6 DVD/Xserve ADM to profit off of.

Edit: One sold for $129. All others in the mid $30s.

Didn't someone post that you can still get the Apple Aluminum Wired Keyboard through the Apple store in the education section? My search powers are weak this morning, but I thought I read that here awhile back.

Does anyone know where can I get a replacement wire for one (and replacement instructions)?

I wonder if it is worthwhile?

I was fostering some kittens and they loved to chew cables. Seems that most were Apple cables like LIGHTNING CABLES and keyboard USB cable. They did chew my Pebble watch charger.

There are TONS of keyboards that can work, wired and wireless -- but they arent the same.

I think I have a number of them headed for the recycler.

Hmmm...I just zoomed in on the pics. I sure hope I get the US layout on the keyboard. According to the part number, it should be. But I didn't recognize some of those keys in the pictures. BTW, it's also available direct from Matias, with free shipping. Not sure about taxes.
