8-core and 10-core models start at $4,999 and $5,799 respectively and currently ship by late December in the United States, while 14-core and 18-core models starting at $6,599 and $7,399 can also be ordered today, but aren't estimated to ship for 6-8 weeks, which pushes deliveries into February.

From there, each iMac Pro configuration has optional upgrades available for storage, memory, and graphics, with prices topping out at $13,199 for a maxed-out, high-end 18-core model with 4TB of SSD storage, 128GB of ECC RAM, and an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 graphics processor with 16GB of HBM2 memory.

Maybe if I will powerball tomorrow.

Too many cheapskates here... although I did see adorama has a 27" 2017 4.2 i7, 2TB Fusion, 8 GB Radeon 580 for $2299... about $200 off. But another $300 to get to 32 GB of ram... gah.

Guess Im keeping my 2014 for a bit longer...

I am sure they are selling well given the backlog of video editors that have been grinding away on iTrashcans (assuming there are still some that haven't defected to Windows).

People whose businesses are in the black and will benefit from the time savings will certainly buy the iMac Pro. Me? My 2 most used Macs are a 2011 11" i5 MBAir 4GB and 2011 i5 Mac Mini 16GB.

I might get one a year from now - when the new Mac pro ships, there will be a ton of 1yeasr-old iMac Pros.

I would be tempted to pick up a refurb 18 core. Who am I kidding, I will blow the money on cameras and lenses.

My newest are also 2011. Son graduated from college in 2015 and we gave him a new MBPr but it's not mine.

Yes, in 20 years, when I can snag it for under $20.

By waiting a decade or two, I got a $10,000 IIfx for $5, a $4000+ SE/30 for $10, and a $4000+ Quadra 840AV for $20. That's over $18,000 worth of computers for $35 -- just by waiting!

840a/v was a great box.
