The only thing I see is the rubber tubing (with flow control device) that runs from the fill valve into the overflow tube. Costs an extra $2.11.

I'd look them up on the Fluidmaster website, and see if there is a comparison chart.

Their website calls the $19 one an upgrade from the other and "Premium". Also a 7yr guarantee. I'd probably spend the extra 2 bucks.

Yeah, the second kit specifically states chlorine and hard water resistant. That is not mentioned for the first kit.

Good catch guys, the second one is due here on Wednesday. Same price as local Home Depot, but I don't have to drive 5 miles each way, and Amazon gives me 5% discount. I know this is bad for local business, but sometimes the choice is hard....

Absolutely no reason to not get the chlorine resistant stuff these days. Just a couple of bucks. Took me years to learn this.

......one just grew up on the wrong side of the tracks....didn't get the same opportunities as the other.....

The PerforMax is the one to get better warranty because of better materials it’s also quieter. It also has an adjuster for the water going into the bowl from the fill tube. That’s the one I got when I replaced mine in my old house. Saves a little water.

I wonder what the warranty process is? Do you need to ship them the old one and wait for a new one to arrive? And live without a working toilet during that time?

I really like the 400A fill valve but view it as disposable, it's such an easy swap to just replace the upper section of it, leaving the lower pipe in place, and costs about $7. Although the thing that generally causes them to fail, or fill slowly is a rubber diaphragm that they also sell as a replacement part for a couple of bucks.

I just love the Phorum.

I don’t know about the warranty stuff with these, my wife wouldn’t let it go but a day without getting fixed. I’d be happy if it lasted five years.
