Dunno if you noticed the homages to the original...
The real "Dr. Smith" she assumed the identity of was played by Bill Mumy - who played Will Robinson in the original.
Her characters "real name" is June Harris - I'm guessing for June Lockhart and Jonathan Harris.
That's all I've caught so far... I'm also only a few episodes in.
I'm not sure what I think of it so far. Some pretty ridiculous plot holes so far. "Oh, look, we're in a 20 below zero glacial wilderness... Oh, look, five miles away, we're in a forest... Oh, look, just a few more miles and we're in a desert".

I tried watching it yesterday, it was okay but nothing that makes me want to watch more. Actually it made me want to look at the original program on Youtube (But then, I've always like campiness)

Is it common knowledge that Mumy was one of the duo that created the Dr Demento classic 'Fish heads'? It wasn't common to me... but it's true...

To mark the 50th anniversary of the classic adventure series “Lost in Space,” Gilbert and Frank dial up Will Robinson himself, actor, musician and voice artist Bill Mumy, who shares childhood memories of working with icons Irwin Allen, Brigitte Bardot and Walt Disney and explains why he turned down the role of Eddie Munster. Also, Bill runs afoul of Alfred Hitchcock, stars in three unforgettable “Twilight Zone” episodes and records the novelty song “Fish Heads.” PLUS: “The Great Vegetable Rebellion”! Billy meets Keith Richards! Zorro meets Eva Peron! And Gilbert tangles with the Man of Steel!

I did know this, but I'm a music nerd. And a nerd in general.

I agree with smacks, it is terrible. I made it half way thru the first episode before turning it off. I was hoping they would all freeze to death so better characters could be introduced. Zero explanation of what was happening. The 90’s movie was way better.
