Only Americans celebrate it, to be honest. I was in Puerta Vallarta on May 5th once, and asked about local festivities, and got a look that inferred I had just spoken jibberish and sprouted a second head.

Me, I always prefer to celebrate that great war holiday, Sinko de Bismarck.

With the added bonus of not running afoul of the PC Cultural Appropriation Police. (Though, it may run afoul of other sorts 'O Police.)
