Songs you got sick of listening to during the first time you heard it
Posted by: pRICE cUBE

John Meyer's "Say What You Need To Say" is torture in a long grocery store line. I posted the lyrics below, I did not alter them or add verses. This is the actual song lyrics.

Take out of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all your so called problems
Better put them in quotations
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Walkin' like a one man army
Fightin' with the shadows in your head
Livin' up the same old moment
Knowin' you? d be better off instead
If you could onlySay what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Have no fear for givin' in
Have no fear for givin' over
You better know that in the end
It's better to say too much
Than to never to say what you need to say again
Even if your hands are shakin'
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closin'
Do it with a heart wide open
A wide heart
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say
Say what you need to say

ANY SONG that repeats lyrics more than twice.

These days even when listening to a beatles song, I'll stop it half way through if I know that the rest is just repeating what I've already heard.

"Love Shack" by the B52's.
About 20 seconds in, I changed the station, thinking "#&%^ that's annoying!".
Also, "Barbie Girl" by whoever it's by... same thing.

Two that come to mind immediately. If they come on the radio, I have to change the station or turn it off.

R. Kelly - I Believe I Can Fly

That was before autotune and the dude can't sing in tune. Decades ago I remember hearing a bit on R. Kelly and this song by Casey Kasem. It concluded with something like "[R. Kelly] says he's never sang better." Wow, I'd hate to hear him sing worse!

Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares to You

I know a lot of people thought she and the song were brilliant. I thought it was fingernails-on-a-chalkboard horrendous.

Totally agree on the first two.
David Cassidy, of Partridge Family fame, was my teenage heartthrob, so I can’t agree on that one.
Can’t recall the last one.

Can't tell... I usually change channels. My iPod then iPhone absorbed my daughter's playlist... there is some terrifyingly bad 'girlz power' stuff in there. I do like the Indigo Girl's Closer to Fine though, so that was a plus. Fortunately most of her music was mine. Got her addicted to classic rock...

Oh and please... none of that teen heartbreak gubbage or cussing to a beat stuff. That gets switched before the first chorus is over.

That would be "MacArthur Park." I agree with you on this one, although the Donna Summer version is head and shoulders above the Richard Harris version.

I have never heard that song, with the exception of the year my high school marching band played it. So I've actually performed it a whole bunch of times, but never heard the official version with lyrics even once.

From what I gather, I haven't missed anything...

How much could you miss a song with lyrics that include:

someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
and I'll never have that recipe again
oh, no!

I have no use for either of the versions with singers and lyrics. But if you were in high school jazz band any time over the last few decades then the big band, trumpet screeching version by Maynard Ferguson and his band was a staple.
