JS Bach, Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor, played by E. Power Biggs at St. Martin's in the Fields, London, England.

My father had the album and it was... amazing. And many years later I happened to be walking past St. Martin's in London while on a business trip. The meetings had wrapped up, and I went walkabout. And on that warm spring day I heard the song being played by THAT organ in THAT church. And stood on the square outside, transfixed, tears streaming from my eyes.

I cannot have it on the play list in the car because I just go.. blind.

Who's that by?

I'm partial to John Lennon's Imagine, CSNY's Guinnevere and Teach Your Children, and many others.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

My little cousin was obsessed with the song Rocky Mountain High. We'd sit by my grandma's console turntable and I'd play it over and over for him, lifting the needle at the end of the track and replacing it ever so carefully at the beginning. He was hit by a car and died when he was five. They played that song at his funeral.

David Crosby - "Carry Me"
... For a while then, the music, would take her away and she'd be singing ... I could surely fly

First song that came to mind for me. My mother died of Alzheimers and now my sweet, sweet wife is suffering through the same thing. Eight years into it. Music certainly lifts her up.

You're not asking for tune that I actually enjoy listening to?

Jon Anderson's Olias of Sunhillow album sticks with me for days, sends creepy vibes up my spine.

Nights In White Satin by the Moody Blues...the extended version with creepy talking part.

A local radio station used to play that song late at night, and whenever it came on, it always woke me up.

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room...

Once I really listened to her lyrics for "And Dream of Sheep" ... it's hard to listen to that without getting choked up. The video pushes that feeling even farther.

God.

Silent Lucidity by Queensrÿche. This tune helped me during a dark period in my life, and I could really pound off the reps while lifting weights listening to it.

Funny, because I really don't care for any other Queensrÿche songs.

Record it in the present tense
Put it into a permanent form
If you persist in your efforts
You can achieve dream control

Since you used the word "haunt", this is the first one that came to mind. To me, it's inextricably linked to a certain incredibly sad scene on a TV show (NOT Grey's Anatomy!): [www.youtube.com]

pRICE,

Maybe it's just me but I don't understand the question. What do you mean by "haunt your senses"?

Concur. I wasn't sure whether it was meant as a good thing or a bad thing; so I went with "good thing."

John Lennon's "Real Love" It a very pure song of love...

Live "Lightning Crashes" reminds me of someone I lost and will always be a part of me
Lennon's "Beautiful Boy", same

The Skyliners "Since I Don' Have You" and Elvis's "Peace In The Valley" for my Parents, who I miss every day.

"Faraway So Close" by Nick Cave

"Road Runner" by the Modern Lovers, to remind me how wonderful life can be
"Ode To Joy" for the Love my Wife and children have brought to me!

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form. It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it." - Billy Graham 1981

"Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise" - Barry Goldwater
