Apple cinema A 1082

At goodwill and there are 2of these. No power brick $50 each

Are they obsolete to use with older MacBook pros

They're okay. Not good for detailed color work at this point. Would be a decent find but for the lack of power bricks, which often sell for upwards of $120 bucks on eBay.

The original power supplies on these SUCK anyway. Much cheaper to hack on a low voltage transformer. Not very elegant, but extremely reliable. Have been running mine this way for four years now.

Followed instructions on a page like this. Super easy and cheap.
