Any solutions for keyboard wear on iBook?

I have an iBook G4, works fine. Have lost the key designation on about 5 or 6 keys. Looks like they have worn or rubbed off. Fortunately, I type without having to hunt and peck, but the kids don't like it as much, and neither does my wife. Short of a sharpie, anyone else have any ideas for fixing this? Maybe some sort of stencil/transfer?

I looked and looked for transfers for my Toshiba....finally gave up because they are so expensive. I got see thru dots at Office Depot and put on my computers now. They say stuck and save the letters. You can also marking pen on the small dots and not ruin the look of the keyboard.

Eventually the "color" red, green, yellow and blue fade out of the stick on dots so they are just clear. Could not find any clear dots. THey don't come off during use. Just seem to stick but easily come off if you want.

$10 for this one, missing one key -- should be easy to snap yours on the missing spot

$20 for a new one

this happened to a friend's ibook. it was still under warranty. apple sent her a replacement keyboard - they were quite aware that it was a problem with some models.

I had the exact same problem with my ibook. Here was my solution [forums.macresource.com]

I have had these on since I posted that thread and they still look just like new. I really like them. None have fallen off and the color hasn't changed.

Apple will replace if under warranty. Daughter's iBook had 2 keys worn out and we replaced the keyboard in Sept. Second one didn't do as well -- now there are 4 keys worn out.
