Permission repairs after Tiger upgrade not sticking

I finally got around to upgrading to Tiger over the weekend.
Every time I've installed system or application upgrades
and repaired permissions afterwards, it seems the same old
permissions need fixing over and over again--they all seem
to be parts of DVD Player and various widgets. This happens
even with logging out and back in and restarting. I never saw
anything like this with Panther. Is this normal, or is there
something goofy going on? Other than that, everything is
behaving just fine.

(FYI I did an Archive and Install upgrade from Panther 10.3.9, and
am the sole user of my Mac and the Account I use has Admin privileges.
I'm still riffling thru Previous Systems and cautiously transplanting
some pieces to the Tiger System, which is now 10.4.4.)

You can safely ignore the messages that read "We are using special permissions..."

These are notifications, not errors.

At this time, there is no way to prevent them from being shown in the Repair Permissions output. As long as you are running 10.4.3, you'll continue to see these messages every time you run Repair Permissions.

Golfer, thanks for the reality check. That's exactly it-- the messages
were "We are using special permissions...".

Yup, ignore it. You'll be repair permissions from here 'til Apple switches to Fisher-Price chips...
